Check out Tiny Choices blog

December 9, 2008 · 1 Comment

So what’s this blog about, anyway?

We co-realized that we each spend a lot of time thinking about the tiny choices we make in the world. Many of those choices have something to do with the environment, and what kind of impact we want to (or don’t want to) have on it. Purchases, food, states of mind–they all impact something, somewhere, in some way. And we are the kinds of people who consider every side of the equation before moving ahead. Now, that doesn’t mean we always make an ecologically sound decision. And it doesn’t mean that everything we buy is made from compostable hemp-based plastic grown on a co-op farm and processed in a fair-labor factory. Or that we are any kind of Super Green Ladies. We think the point is that we think, and consider, and move from a place of contemplation. We try to tread lightly, and sometimes that works out, and sometimes it doesn’t. We like to talk about that. And that’s pretty much it.

So this is a place where we get to talk about Tiny Choices. Ours, yours, and theirs.

Bike Rack Shelter

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

With the the new business school going in at the coops, it may be more appropriate to relocate the bike rack (next to the parking lot) to the underpass side of Gregg.?.

This may cost a bit more, however it will be in a more accessible area…

Something to think about.

salude! - Jeff

A Green Team is born!

September 10, 2008 · 1 Comment

The Green Team can help identify environmental projects at the department/building level (i.e., Gregg Hall) and will (hopefully) get the other users of the building on board to a better environment. We can reduce paper use, increase recycling, promote energy conservation and so on. Let’s put green ideas into motion with a group effort. Green Teams are springing up all over on campuses and in offices all over the country. It’s time for Gregg to have its own Green Team. (Whitney’s original proposal)
